Purity and Lasting Love! Ephesians 5

If you read the Waxahachie Daily Light you know there is a big debate going on in our community about sex education in our schools.  Should our students be taught abstinence before marriage?  Or should they be taught safe sex before marriage?  As we all know there are many teenage pregnancies in our society today.  Last year in the United States more babies were born outside of marriage than those born to married couples.  So the debate is what kind of education should our kids be given?  It is a debate that Christians need to take seriously.  Your children will be influenced by what they are taught in school.

If we want our children to be blessed by God in this life with happiness, love and a joyous relationship with their mate, we must look to the Bible for our guideline concerning sexual relationships.  In Ephesians 5 Paul clearly describes the difference between immoral, destructive relationships and pure godly relationships.

Christians should be so appalled by the immorality of sexual relationships outside of marriage that it should be considered a shame even to discuss them.  (Ephesians 5:3-12).  At the same time Paul discusses the beauty of a loving relationship between a husband and wife.  A Christian husband and his wife will build each other up in love as they both grow closer to Christ.  The relationship will be lasting and growing throughout their life as they draw closer to God. (Ephesians 5:22-33)
