Mother's Day 2014

It's a great day to recognize and honor our mothers. It is almost impossible to realize all the time, effort and love a Christian mother puts into the lives of her children. Her influence is immeasurable. As we honor our mothers, it's also a good time to look at the challenge that is faced by today's mothers and fathers.

The young children in this church will grow up in a world far different from anything we've ever seen. The changes in technology, transportation, communication, medicine and every aspect of life are immeasurable. Our children will see things that we cannot even imagine.

As we explore what life might be like in the next 50 years, how do we prepare our children to live in a world that we cannot understand? As we worship together this morning we will be looking at the only solid foundation for life; our faith in God. As the world changes the one thing that will not change is God's word and His plan for our salvation. Jesus Christ is the solid rock that can never be moved by technology or inventions or changing world views. His truth will never change.

When our loving parents, both mothers and fathers, give their children a solid lasting faith in Jesus Christ they will be able to handle every change that may come in their future.
