The next few weeks we will be presenting baptism as what it really is: God's grace delivered to us through Jesus Christ. Without arguing the point, we will be looking at the tremendous blessing of God's love given to us at the moment of baptism. The new birth in Christ, the freedom from sin, the deliverance from death into eternal life, the blessings of forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
I believe when people see how God's great love is given to us at the moment of baptism many people will see the true meaning and importance of being buried with Christ in baptism.
Acts 2:38, 39 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God has called."
I'll see you Sunday morning,
Dean
